Let's Talk About Cleanser

12 November 2013

Skincare isn't something I've covered much over the last few months. I'd fallen into a pretty safe routine that my skin and I were happy with but of course, the product junkie in me couldn't help but stray from what I knew and having slapped little but Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm on my face since I bought in bulk back in June, I started looking elsewhere in the cleanser department.

In the market for something just as hydrating but with less effort on my part in the mornings, I came across the Radical Skincare Hydrating Cleanser. This has a thin texture but wow, does it pack in the moisture. A pea sized amount massaged over skin and muslined off gives some serious plumpness without a drop of residue left over. It also contains almond milk, rich in vitamin E and green tea which act as soothing anti-inflametrys, the perfect cooling feel for that all too familiar just woken up, groggy skin.

I've also been setting down the Bioderma in favour of something a little richer pre-cleanse. Similar to an oil but more buttery, Clinique Take The Day Off is a scentless balm the gets to work on the bulk of unwanted make up ready for a more nourishing cleanse - perfect for my dehydrated Autumn skin and when teamed with Aurelia's Miracle Cleanser* it's Hydration Heaven. I've been reaching straight for this pretty little pot most nights down to it's beautifully relaxing 'yep, it's bed time' scent. It's thick and creamy texture definitely has a feel of Liz Earle Cleanse of Polish about it, only I notice the Miracle Cleanser sinks in further. Although it may not be a the best at make up removal, post-Clinique Balm it makes for a beautiful treat and I feel happy in the knowledge that it's probiotic technology and BioOrganic formulas are taking care of my skin the natural way.

I may not be quite ready to live a life without Emma Hardie, but when the time comes that I drain the last of my stocks, the dash to Space NK for a repurchase wont be quite as necessary now I've found some very worthy contenders for the top spot.
